Alves: Jesus can reach Brazilian Ronaldo's level

Brazil veteran Dani Alves believes Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has the potential and drive to reach the heights of Canarinho legend Ronaldo de Lima.

Jesus netted his eighth international goal for Brazil last week as they beat Japan 3-1 in a friendly, and has also bagged nine goals in all competitions for City this season.

Alves believes the 20-year-old has what it takes to become a true legend of Brazilian football, in the same way Ronaldo did.

"I wasn't joking when I called him the new Ronaldo. They have a similar drive," Alves said at a pre-match press conference ahead of the international friendly against England on Tuesday.

"He's already great and will get even better.

"For all that he's done, all that he's achieved, there's no pressure. He's doing what he loves."
