Leipzig unconcerned over Real interest in Werner
Ambitious Bundesliga side RB Leipzig feel confident their star forward Timo Werner will remain an integral part of their future despite interest from Real Madrid.
Werner has been cited as one of Europe's most-sought after prospects at the age of 21, after scoring 25 goals in 36 games for Die Bullen in their debut season in the German top flight.
His exploits for the Germany during their Confederations Cup triumph this year saw his stock dramatically rise and his global profile has attracted the interests of Los Blancos.
But Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff feels the former Stuttgart marksman will keep playing his football at the Red Bull Arena beyond the current campaign.
"We play in the Champions League," Mintzlaff said on Sky Sports on Monday. "We offer Timo the chance to make the next step. We are totally relaxed."
Werner still has three years left on his current deal with last season's league runners-up.
