Masuaku: Italy rumours completely false

West Ham left-back Arthur Masuaku has moved to distance himself from speculation that he is lining up a move to Italy during the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old endured a difficult debut season at the London Stadium following his switch from Olympiacos in 2016, making just 15 appearances across all competitions.

Masuaku has been linked with Serie A trio Juventus, Napoli and Genoa after managing two only Premier League starts in the new campaign, having come off the bench on another four occasions.

The Frenchman was an unused substitute for the 4-1 defeat at Liverpool, which turned out to be Slaven Bilic's final match at the helm, and he's determined to earn the trust of new Hammers boss David Moyes.

"In order to avoid any misunderstandings I'd like to stress out that neither me or my agent (Panos Galariotis) know mr. from Italy," Masuaku said on Twitter.

"So everything that is published is completely false, I'm only focused on helping my team achieve its goals."

Moyes starts his reign with a trip to Watford on Sunday, where Masuaku will be hoping to feature - his last start coming in the 3-0 reverse to Brighton on October 20.
