Dembele suspended by Dortmund

The 20-year-old France international striker is a target for Barcelona, with his Bundesliga side having rejected and offer from the Primera Division team on Monday.

The former Rennes man, who signed a five-year deal with Dortmund in May 2016, will be forced to train by himself "until further notice" after being fined and suspended for his actions.

BBC Sport reports that a move for the player to La Liga "not currently likely".

Dortmund director of football Michael Zorc said: "Ousmane Dembele missed training without notifying the club and has clearly taken this action consciously. We will obviously sanction him for this.

"Our focus now is on preparation for the Bundesliga opening match in Wolfsburg [on 19 August].

"Dembele, of course, has the opportunity to complete an individual training session outside the group."
