Pereira wants to see out Valencia loan
The 21-year-old midfielder left Old Trafford on transfer deadline day to continue his development in Spain for a second consecutive campaign, having spent last term on loan at Granada.
United boss Jose Mourinho admitted to being disappointed that Pereira decided not to fight for his place in the first team after featuring regularly during the club's pre-season tour of the United States.
Mourinho did reveal, however, that the former Brazil youth international can be recalled in January - an option Pereira hopes they don't take up.
The Red Devils academy graduate has enjoyed a product start to his career at the Mestalla, contributing one goal and three assists in nine appearances to help Marcelino's side stay within touching distance of Barcelona at the top of the league table.
"In my head I want to be here, help Valencia until June. It is the thought with which I came," he told Super Deportes.
"I know that I have this clause in the assignment contract and now I have to wait to see. But my mind is focused on Valencia and I want to stay here.
"It is important that I am playing to grow, be better and help Valencia. It would be very difficult to return to United mid-year and continue with the same evolution that I'm having now."
Asked if he was open to staying on for a longer period, Pereira said: "Sure, it's a very good option for me, it would be positive. I'm happy in Valencia CF."
